Civil Disobedience

Henry David Thoreau’s essay Civil Disobedience, which can be read online, gives voice to his strong convictions of the necessity of personal freedom and integrity, of the non-existent or at the most minimal extent of the justification, reach and impact of governments, of the rule of conscience, and his disgust with even the association with the current establishment and more so their pratices like slavery and war. Eloquent and to the point, Thoreau describes his ideal state of affairs and sets an example by living, putting into practice and thereby lending credit to his beliefs.

I highly admire his courage and passion and hope for more people to take him as an example.
